Hi All
As David R. mentioned on another string, the UNC passed a motion supporting joint releases at all regular release stations. What he did not mention is that he has already found a sponser willing to donate a good prize for the overall winner of the first joint release of three or more trailers. Great work David. We may emerge from the stone ages yet.

Hi Dave & Mike , The majority in our combine has always supported these joined releases and I believe that this will be the easier part of the 2 issues involving joint releases , the other ofcource being matching schedules .

On a related note, the UNC is hosting a family breakfast this coming Sunday 13 APRIL at Schomberg Lion's Hall 10:00 am until whenever. We will take the opportunity to welcome in our new members and (hopefully) the belated arrival of spring. Come on out for one last chance to mingle and visit before the competitions start and every one gets serious! $10/plate for sausages, bacon, eggs etc. Thanks to another donation obtained by Dave Rodgers, 100% of the $10 fee will be converted into some interesting door prizes. Bring the family.

Hi Mike; in reading the post by Dave, I was in conversation with Dave Ramcharan (as I know that you have been in recent past), and we agreed that talks should take place this season to hash out a few possibilities before the fall meetings.
Possibly not being too greedy for the first year might be in order, which will help in not overly upsetting the upsettables.
Good to see he also agrees in having identical crates for our next trailer acquisition.
Progress!! At a snail's pace, but there none the less!!
Take a look at the EOC's schedule, and send me some thoughts.
Louis

Hey Dave, the boys and girls of Liftlock City are hosting a young bird auction the same day, and many of the EOC boys will be there.
Same as I stated to Mike, take a look, and forward some ideas. Anything that makes sense can be forwarded to the combines.
We are probably going to have a mid-season meeting, so if something is thought out by that time, I can move it to the combine to be reviewed.
Noting the weather we've been getting, you guys still feel that the your first race isn't too early?
I've just suggested to Ramcharan, that we look at taking the combine "trainer" held the week before the first race, and make it into a race, which would bring us within one week of the season starters of the 2 combines.
Inclusive, they have 2 "trainers" before the young bird season that could be converted into races in order to lengthen that series.
Much prefer to have one of your home cooked breakies like Mike had, see the birds, and maybe hash some ideas out.
Let them up!!

HI OSCAR.need a favour could you ask david t. the fellow that took your picture of your birds eye balls what he would charge to make the drive this way and take pictures of eye balls here.my idea is to rent a hall and have many lorts attend.if he could give me a price on groups of ten birds per loft. this way we can set a price so hall food etc is covered thanks guy.also if possible i would like to do this within the next couple of weeks a sat or a sun. one more thing if the weathers good we could do it outside if not it would be done in the hall with lights.

Hello David , The people that took the eyeball pictures are O&L , Dave T. has helped us set up our website . The best way to take eye pictures is outside in the bright sun light . It can be done fast if you have the right setup . Usually we take 4-6 shot of each bird and keep the best one . Those 4-6 shots would take about 15-20 seconds , with down loading to computer etc. I would think you can do about 1 bird per minute . The setup required is a computer with the software program to load the pictures off the camera to the computer . You do need a very good quality digital camera for this , one that has a very good macro mode .
I'll be at the KNSC auction at the Oshawa clubhouse on the 19th and probably will skip over to VanDorf also to meet with Ron H. ,

Now Oscar, O&L did the hard part of taking the pictures with your camera! ....all I do is host your website.
I'm no expert, but have to say with your camera and LIGHTING and proper focus/use of the macro lens with handling the birds are the keys to taking good eye shots. If such a photo session were organized might be a good idea to load the pictures onto a laptop/computer asap to see if there are any redos, that day.
Would have a separate index - list on paper of pictures taken so you know what birds are in the camera and decide at that sitting if any redos are required.
I may be with you on the 19th Oscar, I expect to buy my birds back at KNSC auction, and will throw in a cankerous barnie in my basket to reduce bid price of my birds...
later,
Dave.

Well if I get there ... I won't half push the push up on that babie Dave. Your'll pay way over the odds when you finally do buy it back now!Yet I will actually be more interested in buying the 'barnie Cull' in real terms lol

Haha...I actually have a young local barnie that wants to live in my loft, it's partly my fault as I often drop than can of feed before I walk the ten feet from my back door to my loft..no I don't drink too much. I kind of like him because he is another pair of eyes watching for hawks...if you had all the trees, wires, hawk cover that I have you'd appreciate all the help you can get too.

I recently picked a new primary care physician. After two visits and exhaustive lab tests, he said I was doing "fairly well" for my age. A little concerned about that comment, I couldn't resist asking him, "Do you think I'll live to be 80?" He asked, "well, do you smoke tobacco or drink beer or wine?" "Oh no", I replied. "I've never done either." Then he asked, "Do you eat rib-eye steaks and barbecued ribs?" I said, "No, I heard that all red meat is very nhealthy." "Do you spend a lot of time in the sun, like playing golf / sailing / ballooning / motorcycling /rock climbing?" "No I don't", I said. He said, "Do you gamble, drive fast cars, or sexually fool
around?" "No", I said. "I have never done any of those things." He looked at me and said, "Then why do you give a sh**t if you live to be 80?"
