Hi Guys,
Has anyone read the book: "The Eye and Orientation: A Pigeon Racer's Guide" by Bradley La Verne? Is it still available? I only saw one advertisement and no price in the Digest May 1,2001.

I bought a copy....from a Digest Ad but no idea if they are still available. Cost was listed too...

By Marvin on Tuesday, December 18, 2001 - 10:28 am: Edit

Tom,
Thanks for steering me correctly. I found another ad in the Digest with the price and that it could be obtained from Seigels. They do still offer it for $75.00.

A mother was working in the kitchen listening to her 5 year
old son playing with his new electric train in the living room.
She heard the train stop and her son saying, "All of you sons
of bitches who want off, get the hell off now... cause this is
the last stop! And all of you sons of bitches who are getting
on, get your asses in the train cause we're going down the
tracks ".
The horrified mother went in and told her son, " We don't use
that kind of language in this house. Now, I want you to go to
your room and you are to stay there for TWO HOURS. When you
come out, you may play with your train...but I want you to use
nice language."
Two hours later, the son came out of the bedroom and resumed
playing with his train. Soon the train stopped and the mother
heard her son say..."All passengers, please remember to take
all of your belongings with you. We thank you and hope your
trip was a pleasant one. We hope you will ride with us again
soon.". She heard her little darling continue..." for those of
you just boarding, remember there is no smoking in the train.
We hope you will have a pleasant and relaxing journey
with us today."
As the mother began to smile, the child added, "For those of
you who are pissed off about the TWO HOUR delay, please see
the bitch in the kitchen

Marvin..I was just looking and see years ago you required a book of Brad Lervern to test some eye sign theories..is this the same Brad from California?? raced hens I believe?

By Marvin (64.147.38.131 - 64.147.38.131) on Monday, March 05, 2007 - 02:36 pm: Edit

Jimm, yes it was the late Brad from HapyCo Loft in California. From what I got out of the book he looked mostly for eyes that rotated quickly. The action of the eye more than "eyesign" of circles/colors, etc. It has been a while since I looked at that book. I should get it out again.

Jim, I am sure we'll have a good discussion about eyesign with Myron if we make it down in December. Maybe on the way to City Hall...LOL. I got your letter today.

HI FELLA'S,

WONDERED WHAT HAPPENED HERE SEEING THE ASSHOLES FROM THE OTHER SITE,JUST CUT THEIR THROATS.

JIMM,

I KNOW ALL ABOUT EYE MOVEMENTS & ANYTHING ELSE YOU WANT TO KNOW. I'VE SEEN IT ALL & MENTIONED IT ON HERE, BUT WAS TOLD AS USUAL THAT I DON'T KNOW SHIT.

THE PART THAT REALLY PISSES ME OFF IS WHEN SOME S.O.B.'S KEEP TRYING TO TELL ME & THE WORLD THAT I DON'T HAVE & NEVER HAD PIGEONS. ONE OF MY LOFT'S STILL SITS IN MY SON'S BACKYARD, WHICH USED TO BE MINE SOME ODD 52 OR 53 YEARS AGO WHEN I FIRST BOUGHT IT. I'LL SEND A PICTURE TO ANYONE WHO WANTS TO SEE IT, MINUS THE LANDING BOARD WHICH HE TOOK DOWN BECAUSE IT WAS A BIG ONE. REAL FANCY BUILT WITH ALL DOWELS INSIDE WITH A 3 WAY DROP PEN INSIDE THE LOFT FROM A 6 HOLE TRAP.

THE BOYS HAVE 3 RACES THIS WEEK & 4 NEXT WEEK.

I'LL BE GOING UP FOR CORNED BEEF & CABBAGE ON THE 15TH WITH MY WIFE. THEY ALWAYS PUT ON A GOOD FEED FOR CHEAP WITH THE WORKS. THIS ONE ONLY $ 6 BUCKS A HEAD.

LAST SAT.RACE HAD RAIN THE LAST 70 MILES OR SO & FREDDIE WON THAT ONE TOO.

Myron, we are still here. I got all the breeders mated up so it will be raining eggs soon.

HI MARVIN,

IF IT DOESN'T RAIN IT POURS, SO YOU'LL BE BUSY TRING TO KEEP THEM FROM FREEZING.

MY FRIEND DOUWE DE BOER, FROM IDAHO HAS BEEN DOING VERY WELL AT THE GHC WITH HIS MOUNTAIN BIRDS NOT ONLY IN HIS FIRST Y/B SEASON LAST FALL, BUT NOW O/B AS WELL.
HE DIDN'T GET HERE UNTIL LATE SPRING LAST YEAR, SO I GUESS THE TOUGH ONES FROM YOUR WAY SHOULD DO WELL HERE.

SEND A MIX OF EYE COLORS, BUT MAKE SURE YOU THROW IN A FEW ** SINGLE TUBES **. JUST IN CASE.!!!!

By Marvin (64.147.38.131 - 64.147.38.131) on Tuesday, March 06, 2007 - 11:35 am: Edit

Myron, the weather just warmed up here so we should be doing well overall now. It might get cold again from time to time but should not last long at this time of year. We will know in December "when the rubber meets the road" how good they will do.

Hi Bob

Nice to see you drop by. We are having some fun getting hyped up for the GHC Classic next December. Myron is our inside man and has been clearing some hurtles for us.

How is the weather in St. Jerome? Aweful cold here, but relief is in sight. I am scheduled to mate the widowhood team tomorrow, but may have to postpone a day or two as the temp. is forecast to shoot up by Friday. I hate the cold.

Brrrrrrrrrrrrr here also Mike. -31 when I looked at about 6AM this morning. I intend to mate the stock birds this weekend. Life in the north sure is more interesting than the snowless spots on our earth.

Odd when it gets back up to zero..you hardly need a coat..lol
This weather will make the electric heater in your loft work Mike...oh ya you just use it for racing??
Just stating to band some young from the stock birds..the racers mostly all down at ALL different times..of couse the pair I was keying on in their loft...only pair of reds in my loft..1 clear the other don't look so good..
May end up with no reds on the team this year..oh well sure the others will pick up the slack.
Getting closer efvery day ....

By Myron (64.12.116.71 - 64.12.116.71) on Wednesday, March 07, 2007 - 09:06 am: Edit

HEY JIMM,

DON'T PAIR YOUR REDS TOGETHER & YOU'LL ALWAYS GET SOME WHEN YOU PUT A BLUE IN THERE. PLUS, YOU'LL GET BETTER DARKER REDS & BETTER FEATHER QUALITY.

COLD HERE TOO WHEN THE NIGHTS DROP DOWN TO 50%F. HAD FEW BAD DAYS THAT DIDN'T GET OVER 60%, BUT SUFFERED IT OUT & THIS WEEK UP IN THE MID 70'S.

By Jimm (64.229.151.7 - 64.229.151.7) on Wednesday, March 07, 2007 - 11:03 am: Edit

Yes I know better but was looking for the breeding a little more than the colour..but it also..lol
Mild here up to about -10 balmy
